BRAINS! (cognitive neurosciences)

These are just a few out of hundreds of illustrations for a book on cognitive neurosciences. The work was ordered by the authors (3 of them). As part of being university professors the authors have an obligation to publish scientific work every once in while. They decided to join forces and publish a book together. Because it's an independent and low profit (or even no profit) which they have to finance themselves the illustrations have to be in gray-scale.
The work itself is enormous and has taken many of hours so far. I've been working on it since last december and it's still on a go. One of the authors dropped out of the project so other two had to replace those parts. The other one had a baby and the third one went abroad to attend a guest teaching position.
After I make the rest of the illustrations I will have to work on a number of revisions to polish. Anyhow - I hope it's finished by the end of this year.
These are some of the templates which were used many times. They are 3 different projections of a human brain: side, front and bottom.
They are 3 "dissected"  projections of a human brain: side, front and bottom.
Some more projections.
There have been many zoning illustrations. These are just a couple...
... and a couple more.
This is one of several faze-showing illustrations. These were very uninteresting to make.
Some of the weird apparatus shown in the book.
Funky neuron doing stuff.
Some of many graphs and diagrams I've made. Not so interesting to make.
There were a few of illustrations that were actually really hard to create. Like this one.
There were a few of these sequential comic-book illustrations of experiments.
